Contemporary Bath

For this project Kathy Appel, ASID received a 2018 IDA (Interior Design Award) Honorable Mention for a Residential Bath under fifty thousand dollars. Projects are judged on the client's design objective and how well the design solution meets performance criteria. Creativity, originality, functionality, proportion, color composition, and lighting are scored. Points are also awarded for the relationship of materials, textures and patterns. 

This was a small cramped bath and there wasn't much space for expansion.  The primary concern was to physically and visually expand the space.  The clients plan to retire in this home so accessibility, clean lines, an updated aesthetic and living comfortably on a daily basis were key objectives.
